Volunteering With The Sanctuary
We’re always on the lookout for reliable and trustworthy volunteer dog walkers and cleaners. We also take on a limited number of students on work experience. This will involve walking dogs who have been assessed as safe for working with, observing our health & safety practices, learning to handle dogs safely, observing and monitoring their behaviour and condition, and spending time in picturesque Snowdonia, with spectacular views, and all types of weather!

Working with the animals
We welcome responsible and trustworthy people to the Sanctuary to undertake voluntary dog walking and cleaning duties. We have volunteers of all ages walking dogs, as well as students on work experience from schools, colleges and universities. They walk dogs that have been assessed as safe for volunteers to handle, and we have risk assessments in place for adults and young people, as well as safe methods of working around the kennels and with handling the dogs. Despite these measures, volunteers and students must act responsibly and in a safe manner at all times, and safe, suitable footwear should be worn due to the variety of different surfaces (e.g. wet and dry grass, tarmac, concrete, slate, rocks, etc and uneven surfaces).
As well as the walking, there are cleaning duties available in the small kennels and the cattery.
The main volunteer/student dog walking times are:
8.00am until 1.00pm.
5.00pm until evening, depending on time of year & how many walkers are available.
If you feel unable to help with dog walking and cleaning duties, there are other ways of helping the Sanctuary. Click here for more details.
